Verizon launches enterprise long-distance services

Verizon Communications Inc. this week introduced long-distance voice and data services for enterprises and government organizations in Pennsylvania.

Verizon won Federal Communications Commission approval to offer long-distance service in the state earlier this year.

The enterprise-class offerings are designed for firms with an annual long-distance bill of US$10,000 or more. The packages include two standard voice options, with flat per-minute charges for incoming and outgoing calls, as well as customizable voice plans for enterprises with specific needs.

On the data side, Verizon is offering private line services with speeds ranging from DS-0 to OC-48; ATM at speeds from DS-1 to OC-12; and frame relay service.
