Telstra and China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom) have signed a memorandum of understanding for business partnership and cooperation.
The MOU outlines areas where both organisations can further explore and develop a business partnership and cooperation opportunities covering fixed and wireless areas, voice and data services, and services to business market.
A statement issued by Telstra said both parties have agreed to progress their co-operation by arranging regular senior level dialogue and establishing work committees.
Both organisations will explore the unique role of telecommunications and telecomms operators in the successful hosting of Olympic Games.
Based on the MOU, Telstra will be sharing with China Unicom some of its experience gained in the Sydney Olympic Games.
In March this year, Telstra and China Unicom signed an agreement to explore cooperation opportunities in CDMA technologies and business- related areas.
The two organisations have worked together closely on CDMA technology consultation and network optimisation.
