Nokia has entered the Internet traffic and content management (iTCM) market with the launch of its BIG-IP range of network appliances.
The new technology is a result of Nokia's 10 per cent investment in F5 networks, an iTCM solutions provider.
Nokia said the solutions increase the speed at which users can access corporate data assets by intelligently load-balancing user requests through multiple firewalls and across Web server arrays. To eliminate single points of failure, the appliances detect firewall, server, or application failures and redirect traffic to working devices.
The products - BIG-IP FireGuard, BIG-IP HA+ and BIG-IP 5000 - are set to ship in Australia in early 2002.
