Hyde will move into the NEC role immediately and replaces Watura Takeuchi, who is returning to Japan.

He leaves his role of chief executive officer at SAP which he has held since 2007, before which he held senior roles with PeopleSoft in Australia and the UK.

Commenting on the appointment, Hyde said he was looking forward to growing the business, with a focus on the company’s systems integration and services businesses in Australia.

NEC Asia Pacific chief executive, Kiyofumi Kusaka, said Hyde would be an asset to the company as it embraces new markets.
