iPhone, BlackBerry and Android set to get live betting applications in next 12 months

ASX-listed online betting corporation, Centrebet (ASX:CIL) has signalled intentions to expand its betting platform to mobiles in the next year.

The corporation lauded the success of its live betting Flash-based application launched earlier in the year in both Australia and Europe in an ASX statement, and indicated an expansion to further sports, including NBA, Basketball, NFL and college football as well as darts and snooker.

Centrebet will also expand its live betting platform to smartphones in the new financial year for the first time, with iPhone, BlackBerry and Android expected to receive the capability first before stretching to other mainstream phones.

The company recorded an online turnover of $625 million in Australian or a 23 per cent increase on the 2009 financial year, with total online revenue of $45.4 million, for a 38 per cent increase.

Centrebet spent a total $1.14 million on internal telecommunications as well as $2.24 million on IT systems and applications, largely focussed around improving customer relations management (CRM) and online marketing campaigns.
