Two Australian businesses have been recognised with Beacon Awards from Lotus Development here at Lotusphere.
FishTech and Partners won the best Lotus partner for Asia Pacific and Sentor Communications was a finalist in two global categories.
FishTech managing director Nick Fish said only five Lotus partners around the world received the regional award.
While licence sales played a part in the Lotus award, Fish said the company also contributed to growing Lotus' channel partners, helping it rewrite its strategy.
FishTech is currently rolling out its middleware, AppLink, to Banque Nationale de Paris in more than 40 countries. Fish said Lotusphere was effectively the international launch for the product, which is a fused message broker. He said FishTech had garnered strong support during the show, including international integrators and developers.
This year, FishTech also rolled out a 5000-user Notes system at Star City. FishTech recently won a New South Wales small business award.
Sydney-based Sentor Communications was one of four finalists in the two Beacon categories - the best cross-industry application and the biggest business impact. Managing director Martin Fisk said the cross-industry category was for Sentor's StreamLink, which is an e-procurement package. He said users included a number of top Australian retail and merchant banks, professional and legal services companies.
Sentor's nomination in the business impact category was for the work it has done for RAMS Home Loans, which Fisk said was a custom application that the lender uses for customer management.
He said it was great for an Australian company to receive global recognition.
The Beacon Awards are awarded to outstanding Lotus partners and are highly regarded by users and partners alike.
