FetchTV has announced the details of its IPTV wholesale packages, which will be available to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from late June 2010. The wholesale provider will be offering its subscribers a number of services, including a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) with a 750GB hard drive.
The FetchTV Set Top Box (STB) will include three digital tuners, enabling users to recieve all available Free-to-Air digital channels. In addition, suscribers will recieve 14 subscription TV channels, including CNBC Australia, BBC World News, National Geographic, Nat Geo Adventure, Baby TV, Discovery Turbo, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Travel & Living, Discovery Science, Animal Planet, E! Entertainment Television, MTV Music Television, MTV Classic and MTV Hits.
In addition to those channels, suscribers will have access to six Video on Demand (VOD) libraries, Pay-per-view (PPV) content, as well as access to interactive services featuring social networking applications such as Facebook, Wikipedia and Twitter and games.
Consumers will be offered three different packages for content delivery, which include:
- A starter package, which requires 3.5Mbps of bandwidth to run and delivers all Standard Definition (SD) linear content, SD and HD VOD content, PPV movies, interactive applications, digital FTA and full PVR functionality;
- A HD package, which requires 7.5Mbps of bandwidth to run and provides everything in the starter package alongside HD linear channels and 3D content;
- A "lite" package, which requires at least 1.5Mbps of bandwidth to run and includes only PPV movies, interactive applications and digital FTA channels alongside full PVR functionality.
FetchTV's services are being trailed in Australia by iiNet. Its services will also be available through various Australian ISPs and will be distributed via an unmetered broadband connection. The wholesale IPTV provider is not affiliated with the UK company of the same name.
