The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is looking to upgrade its SAP environment so it can securely move, replicate and test data between its SAP development, SAP test and SAP production environments.

According to AFP documents, the project is aimed at gaining a greater ability to refresh training environments with relevant training data in a timely manner.

The solution will also allow the replication of errors in SAP production to the development or test environment for quick resolution, as well as providing the ability to scramble sensitive data.

The AFP’s SAP environment includes Enterprise Resource Management version 6.0, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) version 7.0 and SAP Business Warehouse (BW) 7.01, Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS).

In February the AFP partnered up with Microsoft and Ninemsn to further educate children about cyber safety under ThinkUKnow, The program provides free training sessions for parents and teachers on how to best protect children online, and is run by AFP and Microsoft volunteers.
