Hitachi Australia has appointed Hitoshi Ishihara as its new managing director.
Ishihara will be responsible for the growth of Australian operations through Hitachi’s Power Systems Group, Industrial Systems Group and Digital Technology Solutions Group.
Hitachi has previously been under the management of Yutaka Sugihara – credited for successfully implementing changes to Hitachi’s business structure.
Malcolm Braid, human resources and administration manager for Hitachi Australia, said Ishihara's international experience would help sustain and grow the company's Australian operations.
Ishihara said his experience in the power and industrial sectors across Canada, Asia and Japan would help extend Hitachi’s reach to competitor-covered areas.
According to Ishihara, the IT and Telecommunications sector currently provide almost 30 per cent of Hitachi’s global sales in revenue.
