The Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) last week served up Version 3.0 of its Chem eStandards protocol as well as a standard implementation framework. The latest version of the XML-based protocol for exchanging data across chemical industry trading networks features seven new business messages to complement the other 45 defined messages.
The new messages address such actions as "report of testing results," "invoice response," and "shipment status request." Version 3.0 also designates a single process for canceling orders electronically that aligns with the standard cancel process for popular ERP applications, officials said. CIDX also made available the Implementation Accelerator, a set of tools, templates, and processes aimed at helping trading partners deploy Chem eStandards initially and also to speed up the process of adding more connections, officials added.
Both Version 3.0 and the Implementation Accelerator can be found at www.cidx.org.
