IBM Software Group today tried to further bolster its ability to deliver Internet commerce products and services to corporate users by signing a worldwide deal with Ernst & Young LLC.
Under the agreement, Ernst & Young will dedicate a team of 125 certified services experts to deliver a range of different software solutions coupled with Ernst & Young's specialized business knowledge. Those solutions will include a number of IBM products such as Tivoli Enterprise Management, DB2, MQSeries Websphere, and Net.Commerce.
Officials from the two companies believe a combination of Ernst & Young's experience in creating and implementing multiplatform I-commerce solutions and IBM's products can help smooth the effort of multinational corporations to improve users' customer services and also help them streamline communications with employees, suppliers, and distributors.
"As an e-firm, we are trying to dedicate a combination of people, knowledge, and resources to help users become more successful. This deal with IBM will serve as an important part of our long-term strategy," said Mark Rankin, Ernst & Young's global leader for electronic commerce.
