Ex-engin CEO Ilkka Tales has emerged as the new CEO of regional ICT services company Hostech.
Tales has been a director at Hostech since November 2009.
He succeeds Carlos Perez, who will stay on at Hostech as executive director of the company’s telecommunications business.
In an ASX statement Hostech chairman Campbell Corfe said the combination of Tales, and incoming executive chairman and founder of ICT services company Kaz, Peter Kazacos, would be a powerful one for the company.
“Their combined skills [will] provide Hostech with a wealth of management and entrepreneurial talent that will help drive the company forward,” the statement reads.
“With his strong background in mergers and acquisitions, Tales [has] been instrumental in helping Hostech acquire six companies during the past 12 weeks.”
In February Hostech announced its intentions to acquire Anittel ltd, Accord Technologies, Axxis Pty Ltd, and Aspirence, which would add about $60 million in annualised revenue to the company.
The acquistion of OfficeLink Plus and 5Star Teelcom were announced in January.
Engin appointed a new CEO Charles Solomon, CFO Mathew Gepp and COO Graeme Dollar in late September last year, following attempts since October 2008 by Solomon as general manager to restructure and turn the company around.
