SMS gets Oracle skills through acquisition

SMS Management and Technology buys Bright Blue Solutions

SMS Management and Technology (ASX: SMX) has picked up Oracle specialist, Bright Blue Solutions.

In a statement to the ASX, SMS CEO Tom Stianos said it had been looking to obtain Oracle Siebel CRM and business intelligence capabilities for two years.

"The capabilities that Bright Blue brings to SMS are well aligned with our existing business and technology practices, further deepening the services we can extend to our clients nationally," Stianos said in the statement.

Bright Blue is expected to be integrated into SMS within three months with its managing director, Lachlan Hanly to take on the CRM practice. Bright Blue co-owners and founders, David Wong and Matthew Yoon will also take up roles with SMS.

The acquisition is forecast to add $9 million in annual revenue to SMS books.

In December, SMS CFO, Steve Kelly said businesses will continue to import skilled staff for some time to come in order to meet the needs of the Australian ICT sector.
