The NBN Co has made a major appointment with the addition of Patrick Flannigan as Head of Construction.
Flannigan, previously the founding managing director and CEO of Service Stream, will oversee the overall construction of the network infrastructure connecting the National Broadband Network throughout Australia.
He will be based in Melbourne and will report to NBN Co executive chairman Mike Quigley.
Commenting on the appointment of Flannigan, Quigley said in a statement that he had considerable experience in the engineering and construction industries.
“His expertise will be invaluable when applied to this critical role overseeing the build of the large, complex infrastructure project that is the National Broadband Network,” he said.
Flannigan’s previous executive experience includes founder and chairman of Integrated Maintenance Services and General Manager of Skilled Engineering.
The move follows a rash of appointments in the past few months with NBN Tasmania most-recently upping its headcount with the appointment of former Telstra staffer Adrian Inch as general manager.
In mid-November, NBN Co announced former British Telecom employee and current AAPT consultant, Claire Rawlins, will take on the role of chief information officer (CIO), while the Queensland premier's chief of staff, Mike Kaiser, will become principal for government relations and external affairs.
