IBM offers e-commerce packages

IBM Corp. has announced agreements with five software services companies to deliver e-commerce solutions to target markets. IBM signed deals with Enterpulse Inc., Eviciti Corp., MCBA Inc., Rare Medium Inc., and Web Emporium LLC, which will craft IBM WebSphere-based solutions for the distribution, retail, health care, financial services, and entertainment industries. Offering one example of how IBM will work with these partners, an IBM spokesman said Eviciti is improving the online shopping site of Things Remembered, the country's largest personalized-gift chain. Eviciti is using several features from WebSphere's Commerce Suite version and will work with the company's clients on both e-commerce implementations as well as on hosted services. "We think these agreements expand the community of skilled WebSphere Commerce Suite consultants who can help customers get their e-commerce applications up and running as quickly as possible," said Sandy Carter, vice president of marketing at IBM e-commerce software solutions.
