Bruce Lakin, the former general manager of Toshiba (Australia) Information Systems Division has taken the job of CEO with ASX-listed software developer Prophecy International and will work from the company's Americas head office in Colorado. Lakin is a well known industry veteran who has worked over the years for Honeywell, Unisys, Wordperfect and Sequoia Systems. He was with Toshiba for five years.
At Prophecy Lakin replaces Ed Reynolds, who has been appointed director of global partnerships with responsibility for worldwide strategic agreements and partnerships. At the same time, Prophecy's executive director Alan Greig will turn his attention to corporate marketing in addition to his responsibility for regional sales.
The moves are being made as Prophecy attempts to lift its sales in the northern hemisphere, particularly by expanding its direct sales teams in North America. Lakin said he was "excited" about the Prophecy's potential. "The company's product set has universal appeal and applicability and will be successful in the selected global markets," he claimed.
