Trevor Kleinert has been appointed business development manager, fibre optics, at Krone Australia. He was previously Krone's state manager for Victoria and Tasmania, where he has been replaced by Bob Cox. Kleinert will have responsibility for Krone's Highlight fibre optics products in the AccessNet and PremisNet ranges. He has been with the company 12 months and has previously worked for Panduit Australia and Allnet Technologies, which is now part of Anixter.
After announcing a loss of $A2.46 million in the second half of 2000, electronic payments systems developer EftNet Technologies has terminated the appointment of managing director Marc Abonnel, who has also resigned as a director of the company. A statement released by the company noted that even though revenue rose from $A239,000 to $A546,000 the second-half loss had occurred because of lower-than-expected revenue attributed to ongoing delays in the commercial release of the Keycorp K78 mobile EFTPOS terminalPeter Wogan has been appointed director of integrated marketing communications for Compaq South Pacific, replacing Bill Merrick who has been appointed regional director for Ogilvy & Mather Asia/Pacific. Wogan was previously marketing communications manager for Compaq New Zealand, but has also worked for Compaq in the UK and Ireland.
Justus Veeneklaas has been appointed to the board of Western Australian miner cum telco ResquestDSL. Veeneklaas spent 31 years with Philips Electronics, where he became chairman and CEO. He is also a director of Cochlear and Sugar Australia.
Jane Marquand has been appointed to the Australian Broadcasting Authority for a three year term as part-time member. A lawyer by training, Marquand has been a solicitor with Blake Dawson Waldron and the NSW director of public prosecutions.
