Olex names $5m managed services contract winner

Power cable manufacturer Olex Cables has awarded a $5 million contract for IT managed services and infrastructure over three years at 13 sites to Hewlett-Packard (HP) Services.

The deal includes a managed services agreement for desktop and notebook support, procurement, service desk and network management, server support and infrastructure design.

Business systems and development manager for Olex Cables, Tony Dunstan, said HP has a strong understanding of Olex's business environment.

"By removing the need for us to worry about IT infrastructure planning and management, we can concentrate our IT efforts on more direct business needs, such as software development and application support," Dunstan said.
