IBM, SAP to offer mySAP.com on zSeries

IBM Corp. and SAP AG have announced an agreement to deliver the mySAP.com Internet-based software platform on IBM's zSeries mainframe machines running the Linux operating system. IBM will offer mySAP on both its z/OS as well as on zSeries servers running on Linux. The mainframe zSeries machines will run either SuSE AG's Linux variant or one from TurboLinux Inc. MySAP.com software is an Internet version of SAP's R/3 ERP (enterprise resource planning) software that links R/3 to SCM (supply-chain management) and CRM (customer relationship management) applications. IBM servers will start shipping with the SAP software in the second quarter of 2001.
