Around the Aussie traps

Onyx Software has appointed Garry Kewish southern region manager, responsible for sales of the company's products in Victoria. Kewish had previously set up and run an IBM tier-1 business partner company, which he recently sold, and has previously worked for Synergy, Olicom and Ferntree.

Comet Satellite & Cable has made a number of appointments to its management team. The newcomers includeMark Rowan, former director of operations at Foxtel Australia, who has joined Comet to manage its operations in the UK and a planned expansion into Europe;Phil Hunt has been appointed general manager of metro operations, reporting to managing director Ian Hughes. He joined the company from Channel Seven; andPeter Larum has joined Comet as group manager of marketing and consumer services, He was previously program manager for general marketing and advertising at SOCOG.

Scott Brown has been appointed finance director of Objective Corporation. He began working with Objective as company secretary last year, but will now join as a full-time executive. He has worked for FTR Holdings and has been a director of Iocom.

Neville Stevens has announced he will soon leave the Commonwealth Public Service, where he has been departmental secretary in the communications portfolio since 1993. He had worked for the public service for 30 years.

Prins Ralston has replaced Karl Bader as company secretary of the listed IT consulting company eNTITY1.
