Onyx Announces Migration Program for Pivotal Customers

Sydney Australia - December 4th 2003 - Onyx® Software Corp. (NASDAQ: ONXS), a worldwide leader in successful customer relationship management (CRM), today announced a migration program for Pivotal customers. The program enables customers to trade their existing Pivotal licenses for licenses of Onyx Enterprise CRM 4.5. The program provides for up to a one-for-one exchange of user licenses, allowing Pivotal customers to cost-effectively migrate to Onyx Software’s proven, feature-rich, fourth-generation, Internet-architected CRM platform. Pivotal customers interested in this offer can obtain additional information at

“We believe the majority of Pivotal’s customers are faced with a costly upgrade path from Pivotal’s legacy client-server product,” said Basil Reilly, Vice President Operations at Onyx Australia/New Zealand. “By migrating to Onyx now, Pivotal customers can upgrade to a mature Internet product that’s recognised as offering broader functionality and a superior architecture. With the uncertainty surrounding Pivotal’s product direction, we believe Pivotal customers will embrace this opportunity to advance their CRM deployments, and we have designed a program to make the transition financially feasible and as painless as possible.”

“Over Onyx Software’s ten years in the CRM industry, we have helped many companies migrate from solutions that have come and gone,” said Brent Frei, Onyx Software CEO. “Our combination of industry-recognised technology and a self-confessed obsession for helping our customers achieve CRM success have allowed us to consistently deliver high levels of customer satisfaction. We are taking the Onyx value proposition directly to Pivotal customers, and we invite qualified partners to join us in this effort.”

· “Onyx has a broader set of functionality, but more importantly, a better architecture than Pivotal,” according to AMR Research analyst Laura Preslan in a November 17th interview available at

· Onyx CRM offers the simplicity and low total-cost-of-ownership associated with pure web architecture, as well as a host of powerful features that will be new to Pivotal web product users.

· Onyx has a corporate culture focused on CRM success, as recently highlighted by CRM Magazines’ acknowledgement of Onyx as #1 in the mid-market, recognition of Onyx customer UPMC Health Plan as a CRM Elite award winner.

· Onyx offers customer-deployed vertical extensions in financial services, healthcare and government.

· Onyx has demonstrated global deployment capabilities in the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Rim, with multi-site deployments by name-brand companies in each region.
