Crown Castle Australia has appointed Andrew Bailey as managing director, effective July 29 2002.
Bailey succeeds Peter Abery, who recently took up the position of managing director of Crown Castle UK Limited.
In his new role, Bailey will be responsible for the management and operations of Crown Castle Australia, which deploys, owns and operates shared wireless infrastructure, including extensive networks of towers.
Bailey will also be a member of the board of directors of the Australian company.
Most recently, Bailey held the position of CEO of Inter-touch Holdings and before that was COO of Orange (Hutchison Telecommunications Australia).
Earlier in his career, Bailey spent six years with Optus Communications, last serving as director home and business services.
In addition to his experience in telecommunications, Bailey has worked at management consulting firm McKinsey & Co, and for the Commonwealth Government, including tenure in the Treasury, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
