ISP moves to assist Dingo Blue customers

In a bid to scoop up abandoned Dingo Blue customers, Internet service provider Internode has stepped in to assist those customers who are destined to lose e-mail and Internet access.

Adelaide-based ISP Internode, which has recently become a national ISP, has offered free e-mail forwarding for the estimated 68,000 customers of failed ISP Dingo Blue, who will lose their service on May 30.

Similar to the post office service forwarding mail when you change your address, Internode will forward the e-mails of Dingo Blue customers to the ISP of their choice as a free service.

In order to offer the service, Internode requires permission from Dingo Blue owner Australian energy company AGL to take over the dingoblue.com.au domain name.

Internode managing director Simon Hackett said no money need change hands for this to occur.

"It's a matter of how AGL would wish to be remembered by their ex-customers," he said.
