Sterling Commerce Appoints new Vice-President in Asia-Pacific Region

Industry veteran Robert E. Prigge will help customers drive competitive differentiation in the current economic climate

<p>Melbourne, 19 January 2009 - Sterling Commerce, an AT&amp;T Inc (NYSE: T) company, today announced the appointment of Robert E. Prigge as the new Vice-President of Sales for Asia-Pacific and Japan. Mr. Prigge brings more than a decade of leadership experience in the software industry in Asia-Pacific.</p>
<p>Based in Tokyo, Japan, Mr. Prigge is responsible for the region’s growth strategy and will drive sales, marketing and customer account management for North Asia, South Asia, Australia/New Zealand and Japan.</p>

<p>Prior to joining Sterling Commerce, Mr. Prigge was the Vice-President, Sales, for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Secure Computing through its acquisition by McAfee, where he was responsible for the dramatic expansion of the company’s operations in the region. He was instrumental in setting up the sales support structure in the region and led the company’s growth quarter-on-quarter.</p>

<p>Prior to his tenure at Secure Computing, Mr. Prigge was the regional director for companies including Quest Software, Symark Software, and Manhattan Associates, successfully establishing offices in China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. Mr. Prigge was also a founding member and COO of market-leading outsourced management and incubation company Japan InfoTech, with clients such as Borland, Kana Communications, SpeechWorks and Witness Systems. Mr. Prigge has lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan for over a decade and is fluent in spoken and written Japanese.</p>
<p>Sterling Commerce has nine offices and over 500 employees across the Asia Pacific region. The company currently works with over 1,500 customers across the region, with approximately one-third of them in A/NZ.
