Officials at middleware titan Tibco Software Inc. this week said the company has finished absorbing Talarian's products into its fold and will deliver what it calls a "complete suite" of messaging products to the market.
Tibco acquired Talarian in January in a US$115 million deal aimed at extending Tibco's real-time data and high-transaction messaging software with Talarian's technology, which includes the SmartSockets product line for publish-and-subscribe, multicast, and message-queuing.
Bolstering the reliability of messaging infrastructures has taken center stage in recent months as an integral part of the push to fortify Web services and ensure asynchronous delivery of XML documents and other data, according to industry observers.
Tibco is unveiling three new products based on the integration: Tibco SmartSockets, Tibco SmartPGM (Pragmatic General Multicast), and Tibco SmartPGM FX. The company said it is also shipping new versions of its own Tibco Enterprise for JMS (Java Message Service) and Tibco Rendezvous.
The messaging suite is aimed at a variety of vertical industries, including telecommunications, energy, financial services, transportation and logistics, and high-tech manufacturing, company officials said.
Tibco officials did not provide pricing or availability for the new products.
