ITCRA appoints new CEO

Retiring Norman Lacy to be replaced by Danika Bakalich

The Information Technology Contract and Recruitment Association’s (ITCRA) founding executive director, Norman Lacy, will retire on March 1, and be replaced by Danika Bakalich.

Bakalich will take the reins from February 2.

“It’s a fantastic role that will give me the opportunity to affect change, and work with the government,” she said. “Lacy has left an excellent legacy for me to continue on with.”

Bakalich’s focus will be the impact of the Gershon review, the economic downturn, and other problems within the recruitment industry.

“I’m going to be working towards more engagement with the industry,” she said. “The government needs guidance with implementing some of the changes suggested in the Gershon report, and we need to prepare the industry for the return of the economy.”

Bakalich’s most recent appointment was as the government relations manager with the Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC). She has also been the adviser on ICT & the Information Economy to Senator Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, Information Technology & the Arts, and regional director Asia-Pacific of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Australia, New Zealand, and South-East Asia.

ITCRA was incorporated on December 8, 1998. It was established to represent the concerns of CEOs in the IT contract and recruitment industry.
