Streaming software vendor 2netFX and Linux NetworX will be showing off at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo today a new clustering system that handles streaming media for high-volume businesses.
The Streaming Server Solution consists of four Linux Networx Evolocity 1240 servers and software for streaming Internet media.
The software includes 2netFX ThunderCast Server and StreamRider Client and offers bandwidth control, media management and video-on-demand functions, remote administration and program scheduling. It supports MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats, as well as HDTV.
The StreamRider client will be offered on Linux NetworX Evolocity 1240s. In an Evolocity cluster, four independent CPUs share the Web serving workload through a software-level load balancer. If one node fails, the others continue providing services, providing maximum system uptime.
2netFX provides enterprise streaming software for intranet and broadband Internet media delivery. Linux NetworX provides large-scale Linux clustering configurations.
