An IT delegation led by the Hong Kong Government CIO Jeremy Godfrey is in Australia from Nov 10 till 14 to promote Hong Kong as a partner for tapping the colossal mainland tech market.

During the five-day trip, the delegation will be in cities including Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. Business-matching meetings will also be arranged for the Hong Kong companies to network with their potential Australian partners and explore business opportunities, said the government in a statement.

Besides, Godfrey will attend the Trade Development Council's seminars to share his views on Hong Kong as a gateway to the mainland; the SAR (Special Administrative Region) as Australia's best partner to tap into China's IT market; and Hong Kong together with mainland as a destination for software outsourcing.

He will also call on a number of government departments in Australia and witness the signing of memorandum of understanding between the industry bodies of Hong Kong and Australia.
