Woodside Energy is replacing three service providers with a single outsourcing and facilities management provider in a two-year deal worth $5 million.
"With a large, decentralised workforce, it is critical we deliver standardised IT applications across all business units and this contract - with Logica - will ensure we do so," said John Bell, business services manager IT, Woodside Energy.
By integrating three legacy-technology support and development areas, Logica said it promises to deliver Woodside customary vendor management and reporting, better visibility and control of support services and higher standards of service delivery.
Bell said the outsourcing deal with Logica will let the company improve change management standards across all service areas and deliver greater responsiveness to development requests.
Logic will work on integrating and rationalising the application portfolio, which will mean a transparency of IT support costs and a uniform support strategy, according to the provider.
The application development teams will also be responsible for identifying and developing applications to improve business efficiency.
