New Asset Portfolio Management Tools Evaluation Report Released Today</p>
<p>Sydney, Australia (November 14, 2003) — META Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: METG) today announced the availability of its newest METAspectrumSM In Depth report, covering the asset portfolio management tool market. This market is bounded by the ability to aggregate information related to managing IT assets, while enabling users to understand and manage the cost and inventory of their IT assets. The Asset Portfolio Management Tools report evaluates eight vendors in this market, which is moving into two distinct categories. While most of the tools have had some basis in solving a point problem (e.g., help desk, mainframe software costs), the increasing integration of these tools with enterprise-level tools (e.g., portfolio management, SLA) is separating vendors into those selling either inexpensive tools that meet some basic asset management feature/functionality level or tools that support decisions on an ITO-wide basis. The analysis also found:

• Followers are characterised by having good feature/functionality, but primarily focus on asset management as a point solution product.</p>
