Cyclone Commerce Inc. will unveil the latest version of its trade connection management suite next week with new Web services capabilities to allow companies to ramp, manage and monitor their trading communities more securely and efficiently.
The new Open Business Connections suite delivers a comprehensive Web services-based platform including built in support for Verisign Inc.'s XKMS (an XML key management specification) to provide security for Web services applications and inherent support for ebXML to bring consistency to business processes and transactions, according to Cyclone officials.
Cyclone's Web services-based automated registration services allow users to quickly connect and create a new partner profile while obtaining and activating digital certificates for security. The new suite also features a Web services-based console to provide enterprises the ability to see outside the four walls of their organization through a single desktop console.
"You can invoke Web services over really any protocol," said Dave Bennett, co-founder and CTO of Cyclone, in Scottsdale, Ariz. "So companies don't have to go back and rebuild their networks. That has been the rub and pain point for many large companies. We can expose the transactional and operational status of Web services and the entire network. We can offer complete visibility into the network, which doesn't exist today."
Cyclone has proven its ability to create and manage business connections between companies, said Jon Derome, an analyst at the Yankee Group. By delivering these capabilities as Web services, Cyclone provides customers with even greater flexibility, speed of deployment, ROI, and most importantly, the highest levels of security, he added.
Because Web services are built on top of Cyclone's trusted security framework, the solution alleviates many of the issues surrounding the lack of inherent security for Web services, Bennett said. As a result, customers can be assured of the highest levels of security for their applications both inside and outside the firewall.
The Open Business Connections suite is available immediately, with pricing beginning at US$600,000 and individual components priced separately, beginning at $20,000.
