SnapGear has appointed Rick Stevenson as CEO, effective immediately, to take up the post left vacant by Bob Waldie, the former CEO who has stepped up to chairman.
Previously, Stevenson served as vice president, engineering and chief technology officer, with SnapGear, which makes VPN routers and other networking solutions.
Stevenson joined SnapGear from Lineo where he was vice president for integrated products and manager of the Australian engineering division. He has also held senior roles with IBM, Stallion, Dascom and Pyramid Technology and has been involved in the Unix and open source communities for more than 20 years. He is an adjunct Professor in the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland.
