Microsoft appoints new ACT manager

Fraser Paterson will lead the Canberra team to work closely with Government and enterprise customers as ACT branch manager for Microsoft Australia.

Paterson was previously with Sun Microsystems as sales manager Federal Government accounts, in Canberra. He will bring more than 17 years of IT and government experience to the position.

"I was keen to join Microsoft Australia because of the way it influences the IT agenda and standard in this country," Paterson said.

The appointment follows a controversial policy blueprint released by Microsoft Australia last month, which outlines the vendor's perspective on the policy debate surrounding ICT in Australia.
