Caldera offers courseware for 2.4 kernel

Caldera has announced its latest OpenLearning courseware for Linux is now available.

The courseware is designed to help users gain a better understanding of Linux desktop and enterprise solutions, and aid preparation for Linux Professional Institute and Computer Technology Industry Association's (CompTIA) Linux certifications.

Based on the Linux 2.4 kernel, the courseware features 31 topics, or Learning Units, on how to set up, manage, and maintain Linux networks, as well as how to configure network services, such as Web and mail services, firewalls and other security services.

According to Caldera, the course material is designed to provide users with a strong understanding of Linux -- on any distribution.

Unlike Caldera's previous Linux course materials, these new Learning Units can be used individually or grouped together for study. Caldera has also developed five courses using different combinations of the 31 units, each taking between two and five days to complete.

Caldera has announced Sydney-based Blue Sky Industries as its first training partner. Pricing will be determined on what mode of delivery is chosen, for example online, instructor-led, on-the-job, offsite etc.
