Enterasys Networks has appointed Graeme Shorter as special adviser to the company's Asia-Pacific region president, Attley Ng.
Shorter has assumed responsibility for the Australian and New Zealand operations effective immediately while Enterasys searches for a replacement for previous managing director, Sheldon Speer.
Shorter, who will be based in the Sydney office, will be responsible for maintaining the existing Enterasys team, building the business relationships with key distributors and partners, and when the new managing director has been appointed, he will facilitate a smooth handover.
Shorter has previously worked with Enterasys, most recently as special adviser to the office of the chief operating officer during the Asia Pacific management appointments completed earlier this year, and also as special adviser, worldwide sales and marketing during 2000.
Shorter has more than 27 years experience business experience in the IT&T market worldwide, specifically focused in the Asia-Pacific region.
Sheldon Speer left Enterasys to pursue private interests. He had worked with Enterasys for more than five years and previously with Digital Equipment for 16 years.
