Commonwealth Bank investigating 'technical fault'

The Commonwealth Bank is investigating a 'technical fault' that caused the Eftpos and ATM systems to be down nationally between 12:10 and 1pm today.

A spokesperson from the Commonwealth Bank said while the ATM and Eftpos systems are now up and running, customers were not affected as Eftpos purchases could be processed manually by the merchants.

"ATMs were also down for the same period of time, but customers could get $50 out of the machine to meet emergency requirements," the spokesperson said.
