Sydney, 18 September, 2003 ¯ Citrix Systems, Inc., the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that Citrix client software for the Windows® CE platform will be embedded in the all-new, enterprise-ready HP Compaq t5000 series thin clients. The incorporation of Citrix software will allow users of the new thin clients to access full-featured Windows, Web and legacy applications running in a Citrix® MetaFrame® Access Suite environment on demand – anytime, anywhere, using any device, over any connection. Citrix software enhances the capabilities of the new thin clients by providing standards-based data security over the Internet, optimised bandwidth utilisation for high performance across all network connections, and centralised application deployment, monitoring, measurement and management.

“HP offers enterprise-class functionality with the new HP Compaq Thin Client t5300 and t5500 and integrates Citrix client software, providing customers the benefits of an adaptive enterprise where users can securely access full-featured applications and minimise deployment and support costs,” said Tad Bodeman, director, thin client and software marketing, HP Personal Systems Group. “The enhanced power, greater reliability and manageability offered by the new HP Compaq thin clients makes now the time enterprise customers should really take a closer look at how a thin client computing model could increase technology ROI for their company.”

Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server, the foundation of the MetaFrame Access Suite, embraces Microsoft® Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server™ 2003 and extends their value in several important areas.
