Novell made it easier for users to personalize their portal interfaces with software it announced last week.
The company unveiled Novell Portal Services 1.5, which lets users add and find information, build online communities and simplify user access to applications and business processes.
Portal Services has management features to let IT managers distribute portal responsibilities, making it easier to customize the content on the portal.
Novell Portal Services is integrated with Novell's eDirectory and runs on Solaris, Windows NT and 2000, Linux and NetWare.
With the new version of Portal Services, individual users can create their own communities without the intervention of IT or Web developers. These communities can have calendaring, search, file-sharing and news group capabilities. Portal Services can also be integrated with Yahoo Portal Builder.
Novell Portal Services 1.5 is immediately available for US$59 per user or $46,000 per server processor.
