Spinal Injury group replaces legacy financials and payroll systems

Reliant on grants, quality assurance critical

Queensland-based Spinal Injuries Association is replacing its financial and payroll systems as the organisation's legacy solution did not meet quality assured reporting standards.

The Spinal Injuries Association is a not-for-profit organisation providing services and support for people living with spinal cord injuries in the state of Queensland and represents more than 1,500 members, with offices in Brisbane and Townsville and extensive networks throughout Queensland.

Following a competitive tender process, the contract was awarded to TechnologyOne.

The Association is in the process of becoming 'Quality Assured' and its legacy solution failed to meet the necessary operational standards.

Being able to comply is important to the organisation as it relies on a large number of grants.

TechnologyOne Financials will track grants and funds received from a diverse number of sources enabling the organisation to provide a wide variety of reports able to present accurate financial information to key stakeholders.

Announcing the contract, the association's CEO, Mark Henley, said it is obvious its new technology provider has developed a best practice in implementing these systems over the years.

"The standards that TechnologyOne has set in the project implementation stage will become a measure by which all future systems implementations can be measured," he said.

Moreover, the payroll solution provides more in-depth employee file information content, reporting, general ledger integration, employee self-service and payroll processing functions.

Henley said the functionality of the HR solution to use retrospective pay processing and disperse employee pays across multiple cost centres is crucial to the association.

He said the solution also integrates with current systems so implementation will be seamless.

TechnologyOne executive chairman, Adrian Di Marco, said it's not enough to merely provide a solution.

"The solution must be an exact fit and a smooth implementation process is an integral part of that," he added.
