A provider of software for documentation strategies, Inmedius, today announced the opening of a new office in Queensland, Australia.
Heading the company, which also provides consulting and training support services, is managing director, David Lowe.
He has joined Inmedius with 18 years industry experience primarily in the Australian Defence Force.
Inmedius president and CEO, Gary Schaffer, said as worldwide growth accelerates demand for the company's offerings in the Asia Pacific region has outstripped the vendor's ability to sell its products from the United States.
Schaffer said the opening of an Australian office is a natural outcome of the increased adoption of Inmedius technical documentation production software.
He said this will be supported by the appointment of Howe, who is a member of the S1000D Electronic Publications Working Group, and has in-depth knowledge of numerous technical publishing standards.
Prior to joining Inmedius, Lowe led an information management team at Novare Services.
Lowe's experience includes positions at Asia Pacific Aerospace and Australian Aerospace, along with 13 years in the Army's Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corp.
"I have already worked closely with Inmedius on several key commercial and defense accounts in Australia," Lowe said.
"The growing demand for robust management information solutions, along with continued adoption of the S1000D, means the company is well-placed to address the needs of the marketplace."
Inmedius Australia is a sponsor of DefDoc 2008, to be held in Melbourne from May 27-29, 2008.
Headquartered in the United States, the company also has offices in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and India.
