DHL Worldwide Express Inc. has begun rolling out EXE Technologies Inc.'s supply chain application suite into its global logistics infrastructure.
In a statement, San Francisco-based DHL said Dallas-based EXE's Exceed SCE software will allow the delivery service company to provide Web-based integrated, real-time logistics services to its high-tech customers.
The software will run several warehouse management systems over a single Oracle database in a Java 2 Enterprise Edition environment with more than 300 real-time application program interfaces.
Rollout is scheduled for the second quarter of this year in all of DHL's logistics centers, the company said.
"By implementing EXE's SCE software suite on a global IT platform, DHL will be able to operate and manage our customers' solutions on a global business model and proactively provide them with single view of all their transactions on a real-time, online basis through a Web interface," said Charles Menkhorst, DHL's vice president for logistics.
