Ex-IBM manager scores Lenovo MD job

Lenovo has appointed former IBM manager Phil Cameron as its new Australia and New Zealand managing director.

Cameron became a sales director for Lenovo after a 2005 acquistion of IBM's PC Division in which he was channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.

He previously worked for Toshiba as a national sales director for more than ten years.

"My immediate focus is to look after our existing customers in medium to large businesses, government and education organisations across Australia and New Zealand," Cameron said.

Lenovo Asia Pacific vice president David Miller said Cameron has played an important role in the company over the last three years.

"Phil has won the respect of his peers, team and customers and has developed a strong sales team and helped drive our corporate, education and public sector business," Miller said.

Cameron succeeds Alan Munro who held the managing director title before moving into an international role.
