Developers looking for ways to monitor and test their Web services are being offered a helping hand from Cape Clear Software, which released a free Web services development product Tuesday called CapeNetTool.
CapeNetTool consists of a tunnel monitor, which allows developers to monitor SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) messages between a client application and a Web service, and an HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) sender, which is used to transmit documents, the company said. The SOAP protocol is used to invoke Web services, Cape Clear said.
The Web services developer utility is being offered as part of the company's CapeScience online developer support network, which offers resources such as technical code examples, tutorials and support queries. More information about CapeNetTool can be found on the CapeScience site at http://capescience.capeclear.com/index.php/.
