Call centre operator, Excelior, has struck a deal with TelstraBigPond which secures 140 jobson the Gold Coast in Queensland.
Telstra has selected Excelior to provide telephone support services for BigPond's wireless and ADSL broadband customers.
Excelior CEO, Greg Scott, said the deal is a vote of confidence for Australia keeping jobs onshore instead of going offshore.
"It is fantastic news for our employees. This contract provides ongoing secure employment for 80 of our existing staff, and will also bring in around 60 new jots to our Robina customer contact centre," he said.
Excelior took over the Robina centre in May 2007.
Established in 1999, Excelior is one of Australia's fastest growing customer contact centres with around 2,000 employees working from 60 sites.
