Tandy's online retail operations have been put on hold while owner Woolworths integrates the site with the warehousing and logistics systems of Dick Smith Electronics.
The Tandy site went offline on January 31 and will remain so for at least the next few months, following the end of an agreement with Uniqueworld.
In November 2000, Uniqueworld partnered with Smartbuy to develop and manage the Tandy site. This arrangement came up for review late last year after Woolworths, the owner of Dick Smith Electronics, bought Tandy and decided to integrate its online sales with Dick Smith's back-end logistics. Under the Uniqueworld relationship, this was done using Australia Post as a logistics partner.
Visitors to the Tandy site are told the site is "currently undergoing some changes", and enquiries are directed to the Dick Smith Electronics call centre.
