Sun offers chance to win place at Linux conference

Sun Microsystems has offered to sponsor a delegate from each Australian state and territory to attend Linux.conf.au 2003 in January.

Dubbed the Regional Development Program, winners, who will be announced on December 7 at the conference Web site (www.linux.conf.au/), will be sent to Perth to attend the conference.

Humbug (Home Unix Machine Brisbane User Group) vice president Clinton Roy said these sponsorship deals provide "real assistance to Australia developers and users and advance the Linux operating system".

The program is being run and administered by Linux user groups in each state and territory.
