Jackson leaves Cisco, joins Enterasys

Gary Jackson, who was Cisco Asia vice president, has been named as president of enterprise networking solutions provider, Enterasys Networks Asia Pacific.

Jackson, who resigned about 10 days ago from his role of vice president of Cisco's Asia operations, was also a former managing director of Cisco Australia and New Zealand. In his new role with Enterasys, Jackson will be responsible for executive management of all aspects of the company's operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including sales, service and strategies to grow the company's business throughout the region.

Jackon will report directly to Enterasys' chief operating officer Jerry Shanahan, and will be based at the company's Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore.

"Gary's industry experience, leadership abilities, and extensive knowledge of the Asia Pacific region make him an excellent fit for driving the growth of Enterasys here," Shanahan said.

Meanwhile, Cisco's Walsh said Jackson left of his own accord, adding no replacement has been named yet for Jackson's Singapore-based role.
