Nuplex Industries is consolidating the management of its global data infrastructure implementing an IP solution to connect its 30 key operational sites across the Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.
The manufacturer of resins for coatings, adhesives, paper and composites, has expanded rapidly in recent years and today employs nearly 1,700 staff in 14 countries.
Nuplex has manufacturing plants in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Asia and North America.
The company's A/NZ CIO, Stuart Barry, said as Nuplex has grown its network infrastructure had become increasingly complex and costly to run.
Barry said the number of disparate systems in place also made it difficult for Nuplex to roll out new applications to support its business objectives.
As a result the company made the decision to consolidate its global network infrastructure with Verizon Business.
Barry said by using a single provider the company can optimise cost efficiencies and provide a firm foundation for future growth.
The fully managed Verizon Private IP solution provides scalable infrastructure for Nuplex's business-critical communications.
This includes a voice and data communications environment to support Nuplex's communications needs as the company moves toward IP-enabled applications.
With Private IP, Nuplex is able to prioritise its voice and data traffic to optimise network performance, and the service level agreements that are in place provide reporting mechanisms such as real-time information on global network status.
Barry said it allows Nuplex to focus on its own business objectives, rather than the complexities of network management.
"We chose to work with Verizon Business because of the company's global reach, strong regional focus and technical management capabilities," he said.
"Using a single global service provider is not only more cost-effective, it also allows us to focus on our business, rather than our infrastructure."
Verizon Business Asia Pacific regional vice president, Andrew Dobbins, said customers growing their business around the world are increasingly demanding robust, secure network solutions that will deliver advanced business-critical applications.
"We have been able to implement an easily scalable solution to support Nuplex's growth, as well as provide greater visibility into network performance," Dobbins added.
