Allianz renews IP VPN contract with Orange Business Services

Network covers 65 countries

Allianz has renewed a three-year global IP VPN deal with Orange Business Services with the network spanning 65 countries.

It includes managed firewall and conferencing services and Orange Business Services has been responsible for the network since 1999.

Allianz SE is one of the world's leading financial service providers with more than 177,000 employees in 700 branches and about 70 million customers worldwide.

Orange Business Services will continue to provide a scalable IP VPN connection among the international subsidiaries of Allianz in 65 countries.

Allianz SE IT chief, Dr. Franz Vojik, said a decision was made to renew its contract with Orange.

"The robust and secure network supports our efforts to improve our service and to achieve our goals worldwide and Orange was able to support us from the very beginning," he said.

In the Asia Pacific region, Orange Business Services will continue to provide these services across Australia, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.

Orange is the key brand of France Telecom with more than 163 million customers across five continents.

At June 30, 2007 the group had 102.5 million mobile customers and 10.5 million broadband Internet (ADSL) customers.
