Telstra's national numbers out of action

Telstra's main national numbers are out of service including 1800, 1900 and 13 number prefixes.

A Telstra spokesman said the cause of the breakdown was not yet known but technicians are working to identify the cause of the problem.

The South Australian Royal Automobile Association (RAA) 131111 number, through which it offers roadside assistance, along with the numbers for other motorists' organisations around Australia including NSW's NRMA and Victoria's RACV, are out of service.

Telstra said it would make further announcements as information became available.
